How To Add Your Own Interior Design Style To Your Rental

Are you tired of living in a bland rental apartment or house? Are you longing to add your own personal touch to your space, but feel limited by your landlord's rules? Fear not, because there are plenty of ways to inject your own style into your rental without breaking any rules or damaging the property. In this post, I will share some tips and tricks for adding your own personal style to your rental home, even if you're on a budget.

Use Removable Wallpaper

One of the easiest ways to add some personality to your rental home is by using removable wallpaper. Don’t be scared, it's not the old wallpaper from your grandparents house. You can find a wide range of patterns and colours that will suit your taste and budget. Simply peel and stick, and you'll have a bold accent wall that's completely removable when its time to move out. (Yes, the photo below is ‘peel & stick” wallpaper!)

Add Plants

Plants are a great way to add some life and colour to your rental home (but please don’t over do it! Unless you are wanting that jungle vibe) They can also help purify the air and create a more relaxing environment. Consider adding a mix of hanging and potted plants to your space, and don't forget to choose ones that are easy to care for.

Create A Gallery Wall

A gallery wall is a great way to showcase your personality and style. You can mix and match different types of artwork and photos, and arrange them in a way that feels cohesive and visually appealing. To avoid damaging the walls, use removable adhesive strips or hooks. One of my favourite things to do to inject your own personality and style to any interior.

Paint Your Existing Furniture

If you're not allowed to paint the walls, consider painting your furniture instead. A fresh coat of paint can completely transform an old piece of furniture and give it a new lease on life but also gives a more custom look to the piece. Choose a colour that complements you're existing decor, or go bold with a bright pop of colour.
