Austin Project

The brief: grown up, cosy + warm

About the project

Nestling in a block of units in Pascoe Vale, our client's home awaited a serene transformation. Having spent years in shared housing, she was ready to invest in a space that felt truly hers — a forever home that needed some TLC. We envisioned a tranquil and calming bedroom with soothing greens and soft muted pinks to create a mature and inviting atmosphere in the living room.

To bring this vision to life, we introduced a warm but fresh colour palette to replace the stark white walls, adding depth and cosiness to the home. New curtains were installed for enhanced privacy, and thoughtful touches were added to make the space feel secure and homely. Special attention was given to incorporating elements that reflected the client's love for Australian landscapes and florals, with artwork by Pink Wattle in the dining room to bring in her favourite Melbourne coffee spots.

Molly, the cat, loved exploring the new space throughout the design process. Weekly text messages from both the client and I on Molly's new favourite spot were a real laugh - interior designer in the making! So happy to have created a blend of comfort and style, perfectly suited to the client's desire for a grown-up, stable sanctuary that they can call their forever home.
